Avocado is often hailed as a superfood, and for good reason. This creamy fruit is loaded with heart-healthy fats, primarily monounsaturated fats, which are known to support cardiovascular health. Unlike trans fats or saturated fats, these healthy fats can help lower bad cholesterol levels while raising good cholesterol levels, ultimately reducing the risk of heart disease.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados

1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained

1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or mayonnaise)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)

Salt and pepper to taste

8 large lettuce leaves (e.g., butter or romaine)

Cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnishing)

Fresh dill sprigs (for garnishing)

Instructions

Prepare the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl. Mash the avocado with a fork until creamy but still slightly chunky.

Mix Tuna Filling: To the mashed avocado, add the drained tuna, Greek yogurt (or mayonnaise), Dijon mustard, lemon juice, chopped red onion, celery, fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined. Ensure not to overmix to retain some texture.

Assemble Lettuce Boats: Take each lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the avocado tuna mixture into the center of the leaf.

Garnish and Serve: Top with halved cherry tomatoes and a sprig of fresh dill for a burst of color and flavor.

Enjoy: Serve immediately as a light lunch, appetizer, or healthy snack.
