Ingredients

6 large cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

2 tablespoons butter (for frying)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Fresh berries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: If using store-bought cinnamon rolls, bake them according to package instructions until golden brown. Allow them to cool slightly, then chop each roll into quarters. If using homemade, have them baked and cooled.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined and slightly frothy.

Soak the Cinnamon Roll Pieces: Take the chopped cinnamon rolls and gently fold them into the custard mixture, ensuring all pieces are coated well. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the custard.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or griddle, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbling.

Cook the French Toast: Using a slotted spoon, scoop the soaked cinnamon roll pieces from the custard mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Place them in the hot skillet, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid crowding.

Fry Until Golden: Fry the cinnamon roll pieces for about 4-5 minutes on one side, or until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side, until they are well-browned and crispy on the edges.

Serve: Once cooked, remove them from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle generously with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Garnish with fresh berries for an extra touch.

Enjoy: Serve warm and indulge in the delightful fusion of flavors and textures!
