Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 cup frozen peas or steamed broccoli for added vegetables

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Use a spatula to break it into small pieces as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Sauté Garlic: Once the beef is cooked through, push it to one side of the skillet. Add butter to the cleared side and melt it. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and milk to the skillet, stirring everything together. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.

Incorporate Cheese: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Beef: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing everything well to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. If using, now is the time to add the frozen peas or steamed broccoli.

Adjust Seasoning: Taste the creamy beef Alfredo and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
