1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon instant espresso powder

For the Café Latte Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon instant espresso powder, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water

A pinch of salt

For the Garnish:

Chocolate shavings or curls (optional)

Coffee beans (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Brownies:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

      Mix the Wet Ingredients:

        - In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

          Combine the Dry Ingredients:

            - In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder. Gradually fold this into the wet mixture, ensuring no dry streaks remain.

              Add Chocolate Chips:

                - Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the brownie batter.

                  Bake the Brownies:

                    - Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

                      Cool the Brownies:

                        - Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting (about 1 hour).

                          Make the Café Latte Frosting:

                            - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with the heavy cream and dissolved espresso mixture, and continue to beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, mixing until fully combined.

                              Frost the Brownies:

                                - Once the brownies are completely cooled, remove them from the pan using the parchment paper. Spread a generous layer of café latte frosting on top of the brownies using a spatula.

                                  Garnish and Serve:

                                    - If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings and coffee beans on top for an extra touch of decadence. Cut into squares and serve!
