Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Coating: In a medium bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, dried oregano, paprika, and chopped parsley (if using). Mix well and set aside.

Set Up Breading Station: In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and the Parmesan-panko mixture.

Season the Pork Chops: Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.

          Bread the Pork Chops:

            - Dredge each pork chop in flour, shaking off any excess.

              - Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off.

                - Finally, press each chop into the Parmesan-panko mixture, ensuring an even coating on both sides.

Sear the Chops: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded pork chops and sear for about 3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.

Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and the crust is crispy.

Rest and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven, let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm. Pair with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
