Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

1/4 cup capers, rinsed and drained

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper. Dredge each breast in flour, shaking off any excess.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with the olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and cover loosely with foil to keep warm.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Carefully add the chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Add Capers: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then stir in the capers. Let the sauce cook for about 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Finish the Sauce: Remove the skillet from heat and whisk in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine and Serve: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Allow it to warm for an additional minute. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
