Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds (for topping)

Ketchup and mustard (for serving)

Optional: diced pickles or jalapeños for added flavor

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into squares or circles (around 3 to 4 inches in size).

Assemble the Pastries: In the center of each pastry square, place a spoonful of the cooked beef mixture and top with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.

Seal the Pastries: Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the top of each pastry with the egg wash. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra crunch and flavor.

Bake: Place the assembled pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Allow the mini cheeseburger puff pastries to cool slightly before serving. Accompany with ketchup and mustard or your choice of dipping sauces. If desired, add diced pickles or jalapeños for an extra kick!
