This classic dish celebrates the purity of each ingredient, allowing their individual flavors to shine. However, as culinary creativity flourishes, variations have emerged, leading to innovative adaptations that incorporate seasonal fruits.

Ingredients

2 ripe peaches, pitted and cut into wedges

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained

¼ cup fresh basil leaves

3 tbsp balsamic glaze

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

12 small skewers or toothpicks

Instructions

Prepare the Peaches: Start by washing the peaches thoroughly. Cut them in half, remove the pit, and then cut each half into wedges. Set aside.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a skewer or toothpick and start layering the ingredients. Begin with a mozzarella ball, followed by a halved cherry tomato, a wedge of peach, and a basil leaf. Repeat this process until the skewer is filled, leaving some space at the ends for easy handling.

Drizzle: Once all the skewers are assembled, place them on a serving platter. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze over the skewers, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Season: Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper over the skewers to enhance the flavors.

Serve: These skewers can be served immediately or chilled in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving for a refreshing touch. They make a perfect appetizer or a light summer meal!
