Ingredients

4 cups Reese’s Puffs cereal

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

1/4 cup chopped peanuts for topping (optional)

Cooking spray or parchment paper for lining

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Combine Peanut Butter and Sweetener: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the creamy peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup). Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and well blended, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Vanilla: Once melted, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract until combined.

Mix in Cereal: In a large mixing bowl, pour the Reese’s Puffs cereal. Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the cereal, and gently fold the ingredients together with a spatula until all of the cereal is coated evenly.

Incorporate Optional Ingredients: If using, fold in the mini chocolate chips, being careful to mix gently to avoid crushing the cereal pieces.

Press into Dish: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using clean hands or a spatula, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the dish. Ensuring it's packed well will help the bars hold together.

Add Toppings: Optionally, sprinkle the chopped peanuts over the top, pressing them lightly into the mixture.

Chill: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until the bars are firm and set.

Slice and Serve: Once chilled, remove from the refrigerator and lift out using the parchment paper (if used). Cut into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.

Store: Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the fridge for longer shelf life.
