1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

8 slices of ham (thinly sliced)

8 slices of Swiss cheese

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth it out and make it slightly thinner. Cut the pastry into squares, approximately 3x3 inches, enough to yield about 12 squares.

      Combine the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper together.

        Assemble the Bites: On each puff pastry square, spread a thin layer of the mustard mixture. Place a slice of ham on top of the mustard followed by a slice of Swiss cheese. If desired, fold the edges of the pastry squares slightly upwards to create a pocket.

          Egg Wash: Brush the edges of each pastry square with the beaten egg. This will give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

            Bake: Place the assembled puff pastry bites on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
