Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening sauce)

2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set aside a small amount of the sauce for glazing later (about 1/4 cup).

Marinate the Wings: Place the chicken wings in a large ziplock bag or a glass dish. Pour the majority of the marinade over the wings, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for best flavor).

Preheat the Oven: When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a cooling rack on top. This will help the wings stay crispy.

Bake the Wings: Remove the wings from the marinade and place them on the cooling rack in a single layer. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the wings are crispy and cooked through, flipping them halfway through.

Thicken the Sauce (Optional): If you'd like a thicker glaze, combine the reserved sauce with cornstarch and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat.

Glaze the Wings: In the final 5 minutes of baking, brush the thickened sauce over the wings to create a sticky glaze.

Serve and Garnish: Once cooked and crispy, remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a serving platter. Drizzle with any additional reserved sauce, sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
