Ingredients

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Broccoli: Wash the broccoli florets and pat them dry. In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli with olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the florets evenly.

Coat with Breadcrumb Mixture: In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the broccoli, ensuring each floret is well-coated. Use your hands to press the breadcrumbs onto the broccoli for better adherence.

Bake the Broccoli Bites: Spread the coated broccoli florets evenly on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy.

Prepare the Sweet Chili Glaze: While the broccoli is baking, warm sweet chili sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Toss and Serve: Once the broccoli bites are out of the oven, toss them in the sweet chili sauce until evenly coated. Return to the baking sheet for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to adhere.

Garnish and Enjoy: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, and serve warm as an appetizer or side dish. Enjoy the crispy, sweet, and savory bites!
